Dr. Matt’s grandmother, Rita Molthen Schroeder,DC, practiced for 42 years as a chiropractor, and served as President of Western States Chiropractic College (now Life Chiropractic College).
Dr. Matt’s maternal great grandmother and great grandfather, both received their Doctor of Chiropractic degrees from the Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1918.
Dr. Matt’s great grandfather traveled to Japan before World War II to answer a call for a healer to cure the emperor of his headaches, and was later taken as a prisoner of war in Japan. It was later said that he took care of other prisoners and captors using his chiropractic skills.
An article in Dynamic Chiropractic declared him to be a “War Hero”.
Dr. Matt’s paternal great grandfather received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Columbus Chiropractic College in 1923 and because Chiropractic was an unlicensed profession in New York at the time, he was one of the many chiropractors who were jailed for practicing medicine without a license.
